Artist Statement

“My work is based on personal experiences. I create autobiographical narratives inspired by specific moments in time. I capture these moments through extensive travel sketchbooks, gathered images and memory. Representations of everyday life in familiar settings are an important part of replicating these experiences; as is the effort to express the atmosphere, mood and depth of these scenes. The narrative provides the framework to investigate the themes of time, individual perception and human relationships. As a painter and printmaker, I explore the mystery of connection through nonverbal communication.”
